TEAM

A shared passion for uplifting the rural communities and families of India brought together Anurag & Karishma to create Gramastha. We are inspired by social entrepreneurship which allows us to serve humanity’s needs and build a resilient future where everyone can contribute and benefit.

KARISHMA DOSHI

Karishma Doshi, co-founder of Gramastha, believes that the spread of education and awareness in the rural communities in India can bring the real economical, social, and cultural transformation of rural people. Before Gramastha, she has over six years of experience working with social enterprises, tech-startups, and innovation hubs across emerging markets in India. Karishma has also conducted design research and business innovation strategies with social enterprises, recycling factories, and youth waste management organizations for plastic waste management and recycling. She holds a master's degree in Strategic Design and Management (MS) from Parsons School of Design, New York. While at Parsons, Karishma awarded with  "Legacy Award 2019" for showing great passion and resolve through her advocacy for International Students within the Strategic Design & Management Program. Through her bold voice, they were able to effect positive change by organizing fellow students to advocate for a reexamination of a University policy related to how programs are classified. She has also designed and re-imagined a sustainable waste disposal experience for The New School, New York, finding new ways to integrate behaviour change.
